# How to buy a token

### What you need

* A connected wallet
* SOL balance larger than the planned buy + \~0.01 SOL for gas
* Understanding that launches on bread.hot are high-volatility memecoins

### Steps

**1. Find the token**

* Through the bread.hot explore page
* Via a direct link (if someone shared it)
* Via DEX aggregators after graduation (Jupiter, DEXscreener)

**2. Open the trade modal**

On the token page, click "Buy" — the trade modal opens.

**3. Fill in the parameters**

* **Amount in SOL** — how much SOL to spend
* **Estimated tokens** — the system shows the expected amount
* **Slippage tolerance** — set the %

**4. Review fees**

* Buy amount (SOL)
* Buy fee (1% for Bonding Curve; 0% for Presale)
* Estimated received tokens
* Effective price per token

**5. Confirm**

The tx processes in 1–2 seconds.

### If the transaction fails

* **Slippage too low** → raise slippage tolerance and try again
* **Max Buy hit** → your total holding after the buy would exceed 2% of supply, lower the amount
* **Insufficient balance** → not enough SOL (account for 0.01 SOL gas)
* **Network congestion** → retry in a minute
